Obama pledges to veto proposed NCLB replacement bill

If the current version of the Student Success Act -- legislation that would replace No Child Left Behind -- is approved by federal lawmakers, President Barack Obama will veto it, White House officials stated. House of Representatives members are expected to vote Friday on the bill, which the Obama administration says has weak education standards, does too little for disadvantaged students and does not address struggling schools.
