Shell exec touts Gulf's role in company's energy portfolio

Shell Oil achieved drilling depth and production records at its Auger platform in the Gulf of Mexico and is taking its Cardamom project in the Gulf offline for the retrofitting of a drilling platform. "The Gulf of Mexico remains an important part of Shell's portfolio and strategy, and it is expected to generate substantial growth over the next several years," said John Hollowell, the company's deputy head of deepwater operations.
