U.S. economy, chemicals to slow in second half, ACC says

The second-half performance of the U.S. economy and the chemical industry will be characterized by a "slowdown or soft patch," according to a weekly report released by the American Chemistry Council. "This report suggests that the boost from inventory restocking has played out and that growth in the industrial sector [our customer base] is weakening," said Kevin Swift, ACC's chief economist.
