County clerk in Ore. rejects referendum petition on biotech crops

A petition for a referendum to prohibit the growing of biotech crops in Lane County, Ore., was turned down by the county clerk's office. The petition, filed by the group Support Local Food Rights, failed to meet the state's "single subject" requirement.
