Dempsey: Cuts threaten military readiness

Budget cuts have hampered the preparedness of the nation's military, Army Gen. Martin Dempsey told the Senate Armed Services Committee at a hearing on his re-appointment as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, saying further sequestration will worsen the problem. "We will not be able to find the money we need to achieve the level of sequestration cuts without a dramatic impact in our readiness," Dempsey said.
