Key to hydrogen power may be found in sugar

The future of hydrogen power may belong to sugar -- specifically, the sugars that can be extracted from biomass. Percival Zhang, a professor of bioengineering at Virginia Tech Institute, believes a simple, low-cost process using a specially formulated combination of micro-organisms has huge advantages over previous methods of hydrogen production that have proved uneconomical and inefficient.
