Lawmakers question Internet, mobile "below-the-line" fees

Four Democratic House members are calling on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and CenturyLink to be more forthcoming about so-called "below-the-line" fees that represent extra charges for consumers and hundreds of millions in revenue for the providers. "Transparency and disclosure in the marketplace ensure that consumers are able to accurately compare competing services and choose the provider that best meets their needs," write Reps. Anna Eshoo, D-Calif., Mike Doyle, D-Pa., Ben Ray Luján, D-N.M., and Jim Matheson, D-Utah, to the companies.
