Report: DDoS attackers are becoming more defiant

The second quarter saw an increasing number of longer and more expansive distributed-denial-of-service attacks, according to a report from Prolexic Technologies. DDoS attacks increased by a third and, on average, lasted about 38 hours, the report said. "This quarter we logged increases for all major DDoS attack metrics, and some have been significant. DDoS attacks are getting bigger, stronger and longer," Prolexic's Stuart Scholly says.
