Federal stimulus dollars to be directed toward biofuels

As much as $85 million in federal economic-stimulus funds will be devoted to commercial production of advanced biofuels derived from algae and other feedstocks. The Department of Energy plans to select two or three public-private partnerships to receive the funds, with a top priority said to be the development of algae-based biofuels.
