Gays suffer disproportionately in Africa's HIV/AIDS crisis

Africa's intolerance toward gays translates into limited access and treatment, social scorn and official harassment that combine to drive elevated infection HIV/AIDS rates. A study of African men published in The Lancet shows that transmission rates are 10 times higher for gay men than other adult males.
