Alaska regulators issue preliminary approval for wind project

Alaska's Department of Natural Resources gave preliminary approval to Golden Valley Electric Association's utility-scale wind project near Healy, Alaska. Unless new objections are raised, the agency could issue its final approval in late August or early September, said GVEA President and CEO Brian Newton. GVEA hopes to complete the Eva Creek Wind Project by September of next year.
