DTCC says single database needed for OTC derivatives

Don Donahue, chairman and CEO of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp., said unless the over-the-counter derivatives market is required to record all trades in a single database, regulators will find it difficult to obtain a "snapshot of risk" in the massive sector. Donahue's comments indicate concerns that data on OTC derivatives could become fragmented because of a proliferation of clearing measures in Europe and the U.S.
