Auditors turn focus to executive pay

Internal auditors will need to step up their reviews of executive compensation as companies increasingly face regulatory inquiries about their pay plans, risk experts advise. Regulators will be checking to make sure executives' overall packages conform to company guidelines, says Steven Jameson, chief audit and risk officer for Community Trust Bancorp. "If companies are doing an appropriate risk assessment, this has to be moving up on the radar," he says.
