Teacher: La. officials should support National Board Certification

A Louisiana teacher applying for National Board Certification says the state has eased its once-strong support for the program. In this letter to the editor, Baton Rouge teacher Jeannine Smith writes that National Board Certification promotes teacher collaboration, inquiries into best practices and usage of student data -- all of which are part of excellent teaching. As such, she argues, it should be supported by state officials.
