ANA president: ACA will bring increased emphasis on nursing

Registered nurses will have an increasingly important role as more provisions of the Affordable Care Act take effect, including the areas of care coordination and patient and consumer education, ANA President Karen Daley said in an interview with DOTMed news. "From our standpoint, patient education is about providing people with the tools they need to be advocates for themselves and better manage their own health," she said.
