Research explores success, burnout of "givers" in financial planning

Financial planners tend to be givers -- that is, people who put others' interests ahead of their own, Michael Kitces writes. That tendency can lead to either success or burnout, depending on how this impulse is channeled, according to research from Wharton professor Adam Grant. Kitces recommends Grant's book "Give and Take," which describes the traits that separate successful givers from unsuccessful ones.
