Ambitious solar-energy bill advances in Senate

The "10 Million Solar Roofs" bill has been advanced by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and could subsidize hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of solar installations by 2021. The bill is sponsored by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., with a goal of having 10 million solar roofs in the U.S., and he said it could create jobs and make the U.S. the leader in solar power.
