EBA plans to reveal debt holdings of major banks

The European Banking Authority won't stress-test the biggest banks this year but will publish data on their holdings of sovereign debt and capital. The EBA says banks will be required to maintain capital levels they were instructed to reach last year or outline how they plan to increase buffers. "Preserving capital in European banks is essential for maintaining the flow of lending to the real economy," EBA Chairman Andrea Enria said.
