Association files lawsuit over increase in federal broker bond requirement

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration faces a lawsuit by the Association of Independent Property Brokers and Agents over the increase in the broker bond requirement set for Oct. 1. Among the suit's allegations is that the FMCSA failed to conduct rule making, a violation of the Administrative Procedure Act, in increasing the bond amount to $75,000 from $10,000.
