Key social issues are focus of Syracuse University's community geographer

Jonnell Robinson, who was hired by Syracuse University in 2006, has used mapping techniques to investigate topics of interest to Central New York. Her work has focused on issues such as teen pregnancy and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. The university's decision to hire a community geographer grew out of an initiative that investigated hunger in the area.
