Texas city manager will retire with sterling borrowing record

Whitehouse, Texas, City Manager Mike Peterson plans to retire Sept. 30. Peterson has managed Whitehouse for four years, including one as interim city manager. He oversaw the restructuring of long-term debt, a park expansion and the paying off of short-term debt. "I'd like to be remembered as the guy who ran the city for four years and didn't borrow a nickel," Peterson said.
