AMA fights salt consumption

The American Medical Association has started a campaign against sodium, pushing for food companies and restaurants to lower sodium levels in their foods by more than 50% over the next ten years, and calling for the FDA to require food manufacturers to label certain foods as high in sodium. A salt industry group says there is no evidence that excess sodium leads to disease.
