Sensors provide an early warning if seniors need help

Motion sensor systems by QuietCare, with small sensors installed at key locations around a senior's home in an assisted living facility, provide data that are recorded and then accumulated over time to establish normal patterns. When something seems amiss, a health worker is alerted. "At first I thought, 'Oh, it's going to be watching everything I do,' " says 87-year-old Doris Herrilson, "but you forget about it, really."
