Golfer Mickelson loses 61% of Scottish winnings to taxes

Phil Mickelson has had a busy month: He won the British Open Championship and the Scottish Open. For this he was awarded approximately $2.2 million, only about 40% of which he will take home. Taxes are claiming about 61% of his Scottish winnings.
