How states are re-imagining remedial education

Data show significant numbers of new college students require remedial education in math, reading and writing. Policymakers nationwide are considering ways to improve remedial education and bolster graduation rates. Indiana high schools now must identify and support struggling students before they graduate. Other states, such as Florida and Colorado, allow students to enroll in college-level courses while offering a system of supports to individuals who need additional help.
