Kansas town gets tougher on LED sign brightness

The City Commission in Hays City, Kan., voted unanimously this week to approve a stricter sign ordinance. New provisions include restrictions on LED signs, which must now come with dimming switches to regulate brightness after dark. LED signs within 200 feet of residences must be switched off between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
