Laser system developed for tracking of space debris

A new laser tracking system will help prevent space debris from colliding with spacecraft and satellites in the Earth's orbit, according to the system's maker, Australia-based Electro Optic Systems. The company received a grant to help it develop the laser tracking technology, which would replace existing radar networks that monitor that part of space.
