South Africa's soaps need to offer more realistic images of society

Ntombi Mbadlanyana, the Gender Links South African Local Government Coordinator, says it's time the country's soap opera television industry advance efforts to present a fair and non-discriminatory version of society within its programming and that the country's broadcasting commission needs to tackle the issue of gender equality and fairness in media.
