HUD to publish neighborhood-level data on housing patterns

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has proposed a rule on how grantees should promote fair housing, and in conjunction with it, the agency plans to publish neighborhood-level data showing integration and segregation, discrimination, poverty and access to good schools, jobs and transit. The proposal, open to public comment through the middle of September, has sparked criticism from some.
