Ad industry under fire

Congress and regulatory agencies are taking aim at the advertising sector, and trade groups are scrambling to fight back on many fronts. Some House Democrats are seeking new restrictions on direct-to-consumer drug advertising, while another is looking to eliminate the ability of pharmaceutical firms to deduct their DTC advertising costs as business expenses. AAF's SVP-government affairs, Clark Rector, said: "We're absolutely under fire. It's not just a perception; it's a reality we're living every day."
