Macala Wright says that when she launched her blog, Fashionably Marketing Me, she saw it as a way to improve her writing while exploring her passion for lifestyle trends and fashion. Although she used to have "50 hits on a good day," Wright says she kept at it, delving deeper into her subject matter and learning search engine optimization. She began getting consulting offers, and by 2009 she was able to quit her full-time job. Today, Fashionably Marketing Me gets about 500,000 unique page views monthly, and Wright's consulting practice pulls in $250,000 a year.
