Open-cloud effort takes a step forward

The Open Cloud Initiative, which seeks to propagate standards to guide the development of so-called "open clouds," is seeking public comment on its Open Cloud Principles, which would serve as the foundation for a certification program. The group's goal is to develop policies to help the adoption of open-cloud systems using a vendor- and business-model-agnostic approach. The effort has backing from companies including Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
