North Carolina named among nation's "dirtiest dozen" states

Coal-fired power plants have put North Carolina on a list of the "dirtiest dozen" states, according to the Environmental Integrity Project. The nonprofit said the Roxboro power generation plant, operated by Progress Energy, was among the nation's 50 worst emitters of carbon dioxide.
