Study: Radioisotope-equipped nanoparticles can target tumors

Researchers modified liposomes to create immunoliposomes that can identify tumors and simultaneously deliver drugs specifically targeted at them. Previous studies showed the nanoparticles can carry large doses of radionuclides that successfully treated mice with metastatic breast cancer, the researchers said.
