Intel: Netbooks selling primarily to longtime PC users

Despite the popularity of netbook computers, Intel this week said it does not expect the machines to appeal to first-time PC buyers because the ultra-portables don't offer the performance of a full-featured laptop. "The first time you buy something, you want the real deal," said Sean Maloney, Intel's general manager of sales and marketing. "If you're going to spend your hard-earned money for the first time, you're going to put a computer in your house."
