Patient death prompts manhunt for L.A.-area cosmetic filler providers

Police are searching for two sisters who are believed to have operated a cosmetic filler business in Sylmar, Calif., that is linked to the July 23 death of a 22-year-old woman who received silicone injections in her buttocks. The sisters, Guadalupe and Alejandra Viveros, were arrested in June on charges of practicing medicine without a license and later were released on bail. Police also are searching for other patients of the practice whose dermal injections reportedly hardened into solid plastic, causing infection.
