AHIP calls for harmonized coverage statement rules

State templates do not allow insurers to comply with federal limits on the number of pages allowed for summaries of health insurance coverage and glossaries of terms, AHIP Senior Vice President Colleen Gallaher wrote in a letter to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. The Affordable Care Act requires insurers to provide the information to consumers using no more than eight pages, but proposed templates run 10 pages.
