Sinclair to purchase WJLA, other Allbritton stations for $985M

Allbritton's WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., six other local broadcast stations owned by the Allbritton family and a 24-hour local cable news network are being acquired by Sinclair Broadcast Group for $985 million. The deal, pending clearance by the Federal Communications Commission and an antitrust review, is expected to close in Q4. Sinclair expects to sell stations in three markets to comply with ownership regulations.
