U.S. solar progress driven by a handful of pioneers, report finds

Thanks to their progressive financing, interconnection and renewable energy policies, just 12 states are now spearheading solar energy advancement in the U.S., according to a report from Environment America. The so-called "Dazzling Dozen" states, which span from California to Maryland, account for just 21% of all U.S. electricity consumption but generate 85% of solar capacity, the study found.
