What will Google do with its new patent for social search?

Google was granted a patent for filtering social search results last week. "The technologies are related to searching for something, receiving query results and identifying content generated by one or more social network users," writes Laurie Sullivan. The patent will likely be employed to increase the fortunes of the Google+ social network, which boasted 500 million registered as of May.
