San Francisco bans tobacco sales in pharmacies

San Francisco has become the first U.S. city to ban the sale of tobacco in pharmacies. The city's Board of Supervisors approved the ban, which goes into effect this fall, by an 8-3 vote on Tuesday. Similar rules have been enacted in eight Canadian provinces, but have failed to pass this year in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Tennessee, New York and Illinois.
