Homeland Security Department plans central security repository

The Department of Homeland Security will create a one-stop shop for mainly civilian government agencies to select security tools for protecting networks. The exchange will use economies of scale to enable smaller agencies to harden their systems against cyberthreats. The department has set aside $6 billion to fund the program.
