IPD causing some architects to work more closely with suppliers

Integrated project delivery, endorsed by the American Institute of Architects, requires collaboration of all stakeholders in a building project. As architects begin to embrace IPD, some are finding that it helps to gather input from their supply chain. "Building suppliers become more critical," said Jeffrey Murray, IDC Architects principal and director. "The value that suppliers provide on the research side is critical. We're not scientists. We bring a different perspective as architects."
