Mohs surgery pioneer honored at University of Tennessee

The dermatology department at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is now called the Kaplan-Amonette Department of Dermatology, in honor of alumni Drs. Robert Kaplan and Rex Amonette. Amonette was the second U.S. dermatologist trained to perform Mohs micrographic surgery and served as the department's first interim chairman from November 2012 to May 1.
