Study: Delirium common in older people after general anesthesia

Forty-five percent of elderly patients studied experienced symptoms of early delirium in the recovery room after surgeries involving general anesthesia, and in some cases the delirium persisted after they had been released from recovery, researchers report in the journal Anesthesia & Analgesia.
