Airline fuel costs up as kerosene fees rise

Qantas and Emirates will join Lufthansa in raising fuel surcharges as a result of rising kerosene costs. Ryanair said profits fell 21% due to the rising fuel costs. "Due to the variance in exchange rates in recent weeks and the associated impact on our fuel costs, Emirates is increasing its fuel surcharge," the carrier said in a statement.
