Aspirin before pancreatic surgery doesn't boost risk of blood loss

Bleeding, transfusion and other complications were not linked to aspirin use leading up to pancreatic surgery, according to a study in the journal Surgery. "Despite many surgeons' fears that preoperative aspirin use increases bleeding, this study (among others in non-pancreatic surgery) shows that this apprehension appears unfounded," researchers concluded.
