More than 7M pediatric ED visits are caused by injuries, poisonings

An Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality report revealed that more than 25.5 million emergency department visits made in 2010 involved patients aged 17 and younger. Of these pediatric visits, injuries and poisonings were the leading culprit, with more than 7.6 million visits, followed by respiratory problems and nervous system disorders.
