Review ties hypoglycemia to higher CVD risk in diabetes

Type 2 diabetes patients who suffered severe hypoglycemia that required outside intervention or medical treatment had more than a twofold increased risk of cardiovascular disease, an analysis in BMJ indicated. The findings demonstrate that personalized glycemic targets may boost type 2 diabetes management, researchers said.
