Senate Republicans propose BRICC amendments in 2014 transportation budget

Several Senate Republicans want to amend the "bridges in critical corridors" program included in the fiscal 2014 budget. For instance, Sen. David Vitter, R-La., has proposed a "categorical exclusion" for BRICC-funded projects from National Environmental Protection Act reviews. The Senate version of the transportation bill calls for $500 million in competitive grant funding for bridge projects.
